Revolut card sticker: put your own photo on your Revolut card

Revolut already lets you personalise some of its cards, and a sticker is another way to get your own photo on the card in your wallet: a thin matte vinyl skin printed with your photo, with the chip window cut out, that you apply to the front yourself. Revolut customisation or a sticker?

When you order a physical card in the Revolut app, cards marked "Customisable" can be customised. According to Revolut's UK fee page, customisation is free on Plus, Premium, Metal and Ultra where it is available, and Standard customers see the price in the app. Revolut reviews each design against its guidelines, which rule out things like copyrighted content and logos, and approves or declines it.

A sticker works differently. It goes on the card you already have, so there is no new card to order, and you change your design by peeling it off. You upload any photo you have the rights to use, and a real person checks it before printing. Our honest take: if Revolut's customisation gives you what you want on your plan, it is a good option. A sticker suits you if you want your photo on the card you use today without ordering a new one, or like to change your design now and then.

Which Revolut cards suit a sticker?

Our stickers fit every standard-size credit and debit card, flat or embossed. With Revolut, the question is the material.

In Revolut's own card photos, the front shows the Revolut wordmark and the chip, without a card number. For select designs you can even order a card without numbers, and the card number, expiry date and CVV are then only visible in the app.

Have a Revolut Metal or Ultra card?

We cannot make a general promise for metal cards, so please check your card before you order, and ask us if you are unsure. It pays to be careful: on Revolut's UK fee page, an additional Premium or Metal card costs GBP 39.99 and an additional Ultra card GBP 49.99.

Lining up the chip window on your Revolut card

Revolut's current card photos show horizontal cards, with the Revolut wordmark in the top left corner and the chip just below it on the left. Hold your card that way and plan your photo as a wide picture. Keep faces and important details on the right half, because the area over the chip is cut out.

If your card has a different or upright layout, check where the chip sits and rotate your photo in our editor so it looks right the way you hold the card. When you apply it, turn the sticker so the chip window is over the chip, then line up the edges.

Applying it and using your card

2. Line up and pressPlace the chip window over the chip and press from the middle out. See a bubble? Lift that corner and lay it down again.

Is it allowed on a Revolut card?

We know of no Visa or Mastercard rule against cardholders putting stickers on their own cards, and the Revolut personal terms we read (Revolut Ltd, UK) do not mention stickers. Many banks' terms say the card remains the bank's property, which is why a removable sticker that leaves the card unchanged is the sensible way to personalise it.
