How it works
How Custom Credit Card Stickers Work
Upload a photo, we print it on a thin matte vinyl sticker cut to fit your bank card, and you put it on at home in about 30 seconds. Here is every step, from upload to peeling it off again.
A Pettypurse card sticker, also called a card skin or card cover, is a thin matte vinyl sticker printed with your own photo. It goes on the front of your credit or debit card, with the chip left uncovered, and comes off again without a trace. Here is every step, from upload to peeling it off.
From photo to finished card in four steps
- Upload your photoChoose any photo from your phone or computer (JPG, PNG, HEIC or WebP, up to 15 MB). Zoom, rotate and flip it in the editor until it sits right on the card preview. Ordering more than one sticker? Use the same photo on all of them or a different one on each. Need inspiration? See our card sticker ideas.
- We check it and print itA real person looks at every photo before it prints. If the crop is off or the quality is too low, we get in touch before anything is printed. Your sticker is printed on thin matte vinyl and cut to the standard card size, chip window included.
- Tracked delivery to your doorEvery order ships with tracking. You get the tracking link by email and can follow your parcel on our Track Your Order page.
- On your card in about 30 secondsClean the card, peel off the backing, line the sticker up with the chip and press it down. No heat and no tools.
How to put the sticker on your card
- Wipe the front of your card so it is clean and dry. Dust or grease under the sticker is what causes bubbles.
- Peel the sticker off its backing, holding it by the edges.
- Line the chip window up with the chip on your card, then lower the sticker onto the card.
- Press it down from the middle out to the edges. On an embossed card, press twice over the raised numbers.
- See a bubble? Lift that corner and lay it down again.
Want it perfectly straight? The Application Kit is an alignment tray: your card clicks in, the raised borders guide the sticker, and it lands straight on the first try.
If your card has a notch or a cut-out, apply the sticker as usual and trim that spot with scissors afterwards.
Will it fit my card?
Credit and debit cards are the same size all over the world, so one cut fits them all, with the chip window in the right place. Flat and embossed cards both work.
Does my card still work with a sticker on it?
Yes. The chip stays uncovered and the sticker is thin, so paying by tap, by chip and at ATMs works as before, and your card still fits your wallet and every card reader. For the details, and what your bank says about it, read Are credit card stickers safe?
How to take it off again
Lift one corner with your fingernail and peel slowly. The sticker comes off without leaving residue and without damaging your card, so you can change your design whenever you like.
How long does a card sticker last?
With normal daily use, one to two years. The vinyl is waterproof and scratch resistant. For cards that live a hard life in a pocket or wallet, the Protection Layer add-on gives the print extra protection against scratches and fading.
Questions before you order
Do you need my card?
No, never. You upload your photo online, we print and ship the sticker, and you put it on yourself at home.
What about my card number?
Most cards print the number on the back anyway. If yours is on the front, take a photo of both sides before you apply the sticker and keep it somewhere safe, such as a locked photo album.
Can I use a different photo on each sticker?
Yes. In the editor you can give every card its own photo, or apply one design to all of them with a single tap.
What if I am not happy with it?
