N26 card sticker: put your own photo on your N26 card

N26 lets you pick a card colour on its paid plans and change the look of your virtual card in the app. If you want your own photo on your physical N26 card, a sticker is a simple way to do it: a thin matte vinyl skin printed with your photo, with the chip window cut out, that you apply to the front yourself. Which N26 cards suit a sticker?

Our stickers fit every standard-size credit and debit card, flat or embossed. What differs between N26 cards is the material, so check which one you have.

N26's terms say the front of the card shows the expiry date and a card number of at least four digits, and that these characters are not always embossed. Whatever is printed on the front of your card will be under the sticker. Your full card number, expiry date and CVV are also shown in the N26 app. If the characters on your card are raised, press twice over them when you apply the sticker.

Have an N26 Metal or transparent card?

We cannot make a general promise for metal or transparent cards, so please check your card before you order. If any part of your card is see-through, treat it as a transparent card. Look at the front: is it a standard-size card, and where exactly does the chip sit? If you are unsure, ask us first. It is worth being careful with Metal in particular: according to N26's support pages, a new Metal card costs EUR 45 with standard delivery if yours is lost, stolen or broken, against EUR 10 for Standard, Smart and Go.

Lining up the chip window on your N26 card

On N26's website, personal cards are shown in landscape format with the chip on the left side of the front. Hold your card that way and design your photo as a wide picture: keep faces and important details on the right, because the area over the chip is cut out.

If your card has an upright, vertical design, hold it the way you normally look at it, note where the chip sits, and rotate your photo in our editor so it looks upright in that position. When you apply it, turn the sticker so the chip window is over the chip, then line up the edges.

Applying it and using your card

1. Clean and peelWipe the front of the card clean and dry, then peel the sticker off its backing.
2. Line up and pressPlace the chip window over the chip and press from the middle out. See a bubble? Lift that corner and lay it down again.

Is it allowed on an N26 card?

N26's Mastercard terms say each card remains the property of N26 Bank. We found nothing in them about stickers, and we know of no Visa or Mastercard rule against cardholders putting stickers on their own cards.
